When users were asked to describe why they didn’t trust a website, more than 90% of comments were directly related to the site’s design. A well-built website generates better customer traffic, and an improved user interface leads to increased conversions. Don't forget to pay attention to the details in every development phase during the whole process.

Try to incorporate these design rules into your website to better engage your audience:

1. Easy navigation

If you want visitors to spend time on your website, you need to make it easy for them to get around. It may be irresistible to do something exceptionally creative, for example, with your navigation menus design, but the simplicity and intuitive information structure are more important.

2. A simple layout

The simpler your website layout, the better. That means it has to be interesting, but it does mean it should focus on the essentials. Clean and functional layouts make your site easier to load, navigate, and use on different platforms and devices.

3. Content is all

Less is more. Target your knowledge about your visitors to minimize their options and focus their attention on what you are selling. Show only the text and attractive visual elements that you want them to take action on. So, you'll be catching more audience in a particular niche.

4. Calls to action

What is it that you’d like website visitors to do? Think about your "calls to action" (CTA). Design them in a way that makes them stand out to a visitor scanning your website. If you’re using buttons in your design, make sure the text is short and goes directly to a specific action.

5. White spaces

White space is not a simple empty space on a page. It can also help to focus on a particular place on your website. It provides a way to isolate ideas and features so that visitors can discern exactly what you want them to see at a quick glance.

6. Easy-to-read fonts

Use an attractive font that is visually balanced and unique to make your website text clear and cool. Recently, I found the four top trending fonts are Brandon Grotesque, Museo Sans, Railway and Playfair Display. I recommend the Railway font; it's an elegant sans-serif typeface family that I use frequently.

7. Alluring images and videos

Images and videos are more engaging than only text; in fact, landing pages with videos can boost conversions by more than 80%. Also, use scalable images (vectors) to ensure a high-quality user experience (UX) on both desktop and mobile devices.

8. Eye-catching colours

Select the right colour palette that will provide the foundation of your entire website design, and then choose a contrasting accent colour for main buttons and other interface elements. Moreover, it's important to be consistent with the same colour board on every website page.
